OK - that fix just lated a week. There must be a short in there somewhere causing the fuses to blow. I guess 18 months is that lifespan. Just ordered one of the new Cuisinarts.... we'll see if it lasts any longer.

Thanks so much for your post. I has the same issue with the higher rated fuse blowing. I removed the bad fuse and put it back together and everything is working fine. When the new fuses come in, I will replace both. You saved me $150.

Thank you and Mark for your posts. I have a Krups 7000 with the exact problem you have described. Of course, the failure happened about a month out of warranty and Krups was not to concerned about it, very uncaring customer service. I told them would never buy another Krups product because of their knowing about this problem but not backing it up. I did keep my machine, never wanting to give up hope of a fix. Now that I have found out what Krups does not want us to know, I will fix my machine.

Thanks for the excelletn posting. On my coffeemaker, the 216 degree fuse was blown. Replaced both with fuses from goodmans.com. You saved me another 4 months and $$$ waiting for it to be repaired, only to blow again a couple of months later.

Thanks for the write-up..I found this in a search as I was trying to fix my new Foreman grill. It too had a faulty thermodisc module...i bypassed it and the unit started working. Found one local for $5...much more than yours but still able to save a new $130 grill that Sears would not take back.

@Jimmy: Turns out there is a screw in the middle of the top part - where the water exits into the filter. My screw had some out, and the plastic sheath had cracked., leaving the water spigot hanging there a bit, spewing water back as well as into the filter. I inserted a new, larger screw and tightened things up, but a little water is still leaking back. I might try to supplement/replace the O-ring that seals the water valve to the top. Not the best design, IMO. I'll take some pix.
