What a night of driving. It’s bright and early morning here on the East Coast. We made it through Tennessee last night and are now in the western tip of Virginia. Unfortunately though, we had a slight problem last night. About three-fourths of the way through Tennessee, the car threw a check engine light for some reason. We pulled over at a gas station for about an hour in which I tried to diagnose the problem at around three o’clock in the morning. I thought that maybe the heat might have overwhelmed the wiring for the O2 sensor, and so I pulled the negative terminal off the battery and let the error code reset. During that time, I also check the transmission fluid and topped it off. Fortunately, after we started the car back up the CEL went away and we drove the rest of the night without incident.
It’s almost 7am right now and we’re still a good 4 hours out from Vienna, so it looks like we won’t be able to make service but we will still head that way. I’m really tired from driving more than half of the night so I’m gonna take a nice snooze the rest of the way.
