2010AustinMarathon32We didn't have the most traditional of Valentine's Days, but we definitely had fun. On Sunday morning, a family gathering of 10 of us went downtown to cheer on our cousin Esther who was running the half-marathon. The festivities started before 7am as we got up to head to the first mile marker where we could see her pass. After we saw her, it was a race to the next marker where we could see her again. It was inspiring to see thousands upon thousands of people take to the streets in the hopes of accomplishing this race. At each mile marker we stopped at we kept seeing the same people again and again, including one guy dressed up in full Batman outfit, complete with cape and fake muscles.

The night before, we gathered together at my parents' house for a home cooked Chinese New Year dinner eating till we couldn't move. A 13 course meal (not including dessert and cake) for 14 people? Yes, please.
