Well, today was one of those days where everything comes together needing your attention. This morning, Chloe woke up like any other day, but after her morning feeding she started crying and wailing. It took some considerable effort to get her to quiet down and then actually fall asleep. By that time, I was late for school, so I rushed out the door in an attempt to make it to my morning meeting.

After the meeting, I scrambled to complete some pressing tasks on my to-do list. I was originally supposed to meet up with a labmate to discuss some equipment issues in the lab, but had to cancel as I was expecting to have to go to the DMV office with my cousin to help with a car issue. Turned out that something else came up and therefore I was on the phone with my mom, who was trying to convince me that I would have to go on a road trip with her and my cousin next week out-of-state. After a long phone conversation about why I could not do such a thing, and why there were other alternatives (there were), things worked out on their end and I was able to continue working.

At around 2pm, I finally finish my work, and pass along my finished work to someone else, who was going to take it and continue with it. Fifteen minutes later, I'm asked if I can help with the continued work of said project. Okay, sure, I responded. About an hour and a half later, I get a phone call from Carolyn saying Chloe has been abnormally crying and wailing all afternoon and has some bloody poop in her diaper. She asks me what to do, and honestly I have no idea, so I try to finish my last task here, but end up having to ask my colleague to finish the last part so that I can leave.

I rush home, to find Chloe not looking too happy. My bag-of-tricks that I did in the morning to get her to sleep is not working at 4:30pm in the afternoon. We decided to feed her, which seemed to do the trick for about an hour and a half, after which feeding her again seemed to pacify her. Maybe it's a growth spurt? I dunno... growth spurts and bloody poops don't seem to go together.

Well, now at 10:52pm, both ladies of the house are asleep, and I managed to get some other things done. Ready for bed as tomorrow morning I've got an 8:30am meeting.

All in a normal Thursday for me.
