The last 24 hours.
The last 24 hours have been quite interesting… After bible study ended at our apartment last night, Carolyn and I decided to bum out on the couch to watch a movie. That evening, the A/C in our unit stopped working. Gradually the temperature rose from about 73 to over 80 degrees. Carolyn was growing uncomfortable, and Chloe was equally warm. So finally at midnight, I made the decision to pack up and move us over to my parents’ house. It took an hour to finish feeding Chloe, and so by the time we were there it was past 1:00am.
On top of that, while sitting on the couch, I guess I was vegging out in a weird position, so now my neck had this terrible crick in it. In fact, by 5am the pain was so unbearable that I couldn’t sleep anymore and had to get up. My dad was up around 7am and asked why I was up. He gave me some medicine and I was able to sleep for another few hours.
By the time I woke up it was too late for me to make it to my morning meeting, nor did I have any clothes at my parents’ house that I could have thrown on and gone to school in. So I just did some work on the computer. Finally, we ended up heading back to our apartment. As we pulled up to a parking spot, Carolyn pointed out, “hey how come your car windows are open”. Looking closer, I realized that someone had busted out my car windows over night. I looked in the car, my car stereo was gone, and so was the iPod that was hidden under the seat. The rest of the day was spent calling the cops, arranging repairs, and trying to deal with insurance (which was a no-go).
What a day…
