What a long day. We made it into State College around 4:30pm and met with the family that we are staying with. The couples' names are Jenn and Ryan. I didn't get a chance yet to meet Ryan, but Jenn is a very nice person who has been very hospitable to both of us. Their daughter, Evey, just turned 19 months today and is a really adorable girl to play with. She's a little shy but I hope that she will come around before we have to leave on Saturday. They've also got a pug dog, Max, who is so energetic and friendly. Maybe he smelled Eddie on me or something, but the dog was jumping all over me. Even when I was just sitting in a chair, he'd come jump in my lap. I thought that was hilarious. But it's okay. I'm used to handling hyperactive doggies.

We headed over to the conference center later in the evening and shmoozed with all the researchers and students there. There were a few people that I recognized from the previous conference that I was at, but for the most part it was a completely new crowd. Personally, I'd rather talk to people about life rather than about research, so the mingling time there was not necessarily where I am most comfortable. But oh well... Hyun Gu and I stayed there for a few hours and then headed out on the town. We went to this place called "Allen Street Grill" which was this homey, upstairs shindig with big windows overlooking Allen St. I am determined to lose some more weight over this week, so I only had a salad:)

No pictures so far. Maybe I'm not as motivated to go picture crazy yet. I will say though that the campus here is beautiful. It makes me miss the east coast. The weather here is simply gorgeous as well. When the high is 80 degrees, you know it's good stuff.
