This week has started quite different from recent weeks. Though I've had just as much things on the schedule, there is a sense of energy and enjoyment throughout the day. The main reason is that Carolyn and I were able to work through a pretty big conflict this weekend that had been hounding us for well over a week. In reconciling, we were able to bring back a lot of peace back into our home rather than strife. Also, we have been doing a lot of activities with people, both as a couple and individually which has refreshed a lot of relationships that we felt had slid this semester as we got busy with all our responsibilities. And to some extent, our decision to take a break from television has worked out and allowed us to spend more of our home time together either talking, taking care of home things, or both at the same time. Yesterday we spent the evening organizing our study which was in serious need of some spring/summer/fall/winter cleaning. As we organized some pictures, we bonded over some memories from the last year, as well as laughed at a few high school photos. In the end, not only did we have a good evening, but we also had a well-organized study which for me adds to the feeling of rest when you come home to a clean house.

Update: Here is the link to Carolyn's blog about what we are learning in marriage.

glad to hear you guys reached a point of peace and get to experience the home as a refreshing place :-) those 2 am conversations are never fun (and never-ending, it can feel like...especially in a tired state...).

on a different note...time for high school pictures to be scanned in and posted!!
