Get 1 movie, leave with 3.
Okay, tonight I was definitely a sucker for corporate advertising. Janice and I went to Blockbuster with the intention of renting Hitch. It should have been a quick 5 minute in-and-out visit, but instead Janice was distracted by the Previously Viewed rack. We had been listening to the "Elf" cd in the car so she wanted to get that DVD as well. Fortunately (or unfortunately, once you hear what happened) the DVD was only $4.99. Pretty cheap for owning a DVD when you consider that's about the price to rent it for a week. Okay, so that was fine... then I thought, "hmm, how much is 'Hitch' as a Pre-viewed movie?" Turns out it was $12.99, kinda expensive for a used DVD but then I saw a sign for "3 Previously Viewed DVDs for $25". So after another 20 minutes of deliberating, we left with 3 movies and a credit card charge $25 + tax. If I had just gone in and out, I would have spent closer to $3. *sigh*... stupid blockbuster video store...
Oh well, so we left with "Hitch", "Elf" and "The Bourne Supremacy". We ended up watching "Hitch"... quite an excellent movie. But no, I do not watch that movie to get ideas. And no, Moses, you may not ask me for advice on how to talk to the ladies.
Hah!
