Your Eye as a Camera

I was reading an article this morning
about the
death of VHS tapes and from there I started reading about the
progression of video formats. Each new advance in video technology
has come with an increase in resolution, and will do so until we
quite possibly reach the resolution of the real-world. Now, the
world doesn't really have resolution. It's what you use to view
the world. So I looked up the resolution of human eyes:
Apparently, our eyes have a resolution of 576 MEGAPIXELS! But
that's only in the forward 120 degrees, and doesn't count the
180+ degree field of view that we have if you count our peripheral
vision. All of a sudden, my 6 megapixel camera seems so lame.
