Decision 08: Barf-O.

I've been pretty interested in the
election this year. I've enjoyed reading about the latest
political news and tried to keep up with the issues that the
candidates have been discussing with each other, as well as with
Joe the Plumber. It's an exciting time to be an American.
What I haven't been excited about though is the over-zealousness
of party supporters who so strongly believe in their candidate and
turn to disrespect the other candidate and supporters. The sad
thing about it is, I'm talking about Christians. And I'm talking
about Republicans AND Democrats. Read on Facebook, read on
people's blogs, hear about stuff being said from church pulpits,
and you'll see a sense of disrespect towards people they don't
agree with.
It's embarrassing to be lumped into the category of "Christian" with people who are saying these kinds of things.
Personally, I'm ready for this election
to be over.
Am I voting for a specific candidate?
Yes. Do I take a side in this election? Yes. But what if the "other
guy" wins? Well, Romans 13 says, "For there is no authority except
from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God." God
continues to make Himself known in this world from the beginning of
time, even when there have been bad kings ruling lands. God always
prevails.
