Big Brother at Church
Each week during the announcements at church, they encourage everyone to register themselves on the church website. I thought it was just a way to keep the church up to date with your email and other pertinent information. The thing is though, when I signed up and logged in for the first time, I was kinda surprised to see a lot of my information already in the system. Not only did they already have my most current mailing address on file, but they also had a record of how much I had tithed this year already. They also knew my wife's name and our wedding anniversary (okay, not so surprising since we got married there), but they also had a record of what ministries we attended, and how we were serving in the church.
Granted, none of this is a secret to the church. We've given them this information at some point or another. It was just a little surprising to see it all organized in one place at one time. I will have to say it is kinda convenient. I was able to see that during the month of my wedding I forgot to tithe to the church.
It's been a slow blogging week, I had to write about something.
