*POOF* (and cue flash of light)
As I was doing some work today in the lab office, I decided to plug in my phone charger into the surge protector on my desk. When I touched the charger plug into the surge protector, there was a bright spark, a small "poof" sound, and all of a sudden all of the computers on my side of the wall shut off. Attempts to revive the computers were unsuccessful.
I removed my charger, and there was this nice brown burn mark where the surge protector had sparked up and hit the plastic.
Since the computers didn't work anymore, I just went home.
That's probably the best excuse since "my dog ate my homework".
