This weekend we will begin moving Carolyn's things into the Dana Duplex. As I prepare for the move, I'm realizing how companies try to nickel and dime you for everything. The power company, utility services, phone company, internet- all of them have "one-time activation fees". It wouldn't be too bad if they actually charged for the work done, but in many cases it feels like they just flip a switch or press a button to turn the services on.

Maybe I'm just complaining, but every dollar counts when you're trying to provide for a family.

Some good news though. I found an old DSL modem at my house that I think still works, therefore, saving me from having to buy a $49.99 DSL modem from our internet provider.
