After an easy morning of lectures and seminars, we were set loose to the city of Cleveland. There were trips to Cedar Pointe, the Amish country, as well as general tours of Cleveland. Again, Jess was kind enough to act as tour guide and took both me and Hyun Gu to the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. It gave me an opportunity to play with my dad's camera and take some well lit outdoor pictures. You can see those in the gallery. Here's one of the three of us in the garden library:

Even though it wasn't Texas, it was really HOT. Anyways, it was really nice and a lot of fun. It may not seem like my personality, but I really like these kinds of places; looking at plants and such.

Yesterday, they had a banquet at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. I had thought that they would just have a little conference room for us, but no. The conference society had rented out the entire place, brought in catered food, and pretty much allowed us to roam around the entire museum, including the restricted parts. This museum is where they store the partial skeleton of "Lucy", the Australopithecus afarensis. It was a little odd, since the museum director was presenting evolution as the reason why we exist. I just listened quietly to what they had to say.

There was also this freaky part of the museum where they stored the skeletons of all the unclaimed bodies from the local morgue, from years 1912 to 1938. There's just drawers and drawers of bones. Some people didn't dare go into the stacks to look, but I just strolled on in, opened a few drawers, took a few pictures.

Tonight there's nothing going on so I'll probably just hang out and bum around. Maybe go find some food to eat. I've got the internet in the dorm room so what more do I need?
