Dallas Wedding
I have to say it's been a long time since I've been to Dallas, let alone for a wedding in Dallas. The last time I was there was almost two years ago on August 12th, 2006 when a few of us went up to bring back the engine for the project car. Last year we drove through it on the way to Oklahoma City, but for me, Dallas is that weird uncle in the mental hospital that you visit only on the rarest of occasions.
Phil and Mindy's wedding this past weekend was fun though. Carolyn and I drove up Saturday morning. Went to Fazoli's in Waco, and checked into our hotel rooms early. Then we headed over to the church where the ceremony was. As we were walking in late, we got spotted by Phil and the groomsmen who were waiting in the wings to walk out into the ceremony. They motioned us to quickly get into the church since we were now late. We made it in right after Mindy walked into the sanctuary.
It was once again a blast from the past as there were many friends there at the wedding whom I hadn't seen in a few years. I guess it's one of those things where you only see people at weddings now. Sad, but true.
The reception was fun as it allowed us to all hang out more closely and catch up with friends old and new. I sat at a table with Wei and Scott where we discussed the future of go-karting. Specifically, the go-karting that will take place at my bachelor party.
At the end of the evening, Carolyn and I caught up on this past Thursday's NBC comedies. Specifically, 30 Rock, The Office, and Scrubs.
All in all, quite a fun relaxing wedding. Although now it's back to work.
