Premarital Counseling
To be known by someone, and yet still
loved. That's one of the marriage truths that we've learned from
Matt and Shannon during our times together for premarital
counseling. We've really enjoyed our times with them. They've
been an incredible source of wisdom for us during the last couple
months and continue to be so for us as we still have a few sessions
left with them before the wedding.
Learning about marriage has been really eye-opening. Hollywood
overly glamourizes meeting of someone you're attracted to: that
initial heart flutter, the awkward things you say, and just the way
that it makes you feel. But we're never exposed to what daily life
is like down the line. There is conflict, there might be times of
sadness, and there isn't always that excitement of discovering
something new and intriguing about the person. Yet, in the intimate
setting of marriage, you have someone who knows everything about
you, and yet loves you unconditionally despite all of your junk.
The thought of that is quite cool:)
