Not True
Carolyn and I went apartment hunting again this past weekend. We are closing in on a lead in a great location. It's close to school, close to church, and... oh, close to the mall. Assuming all goes well, we'll have this place starting May 1st. It should be a great place for people to come over and hang out. I've already scoped out a location in the living room to put a giant plasma tv!
But I want to dispel any myths that may be out there. Our plan with the new place is for Carolyn to move in starting in May since the lease at her current apartment will expire that very same month. I will gradually move my stuff in over the next few months, but I will not be living there until after the wedding.
There's been talk that the only reason that we're doing it this way is because my parents would flip out if I lived with a girl prior to marriage. That is not true. Though we do seek to honor our parents in this way, the reason is first and foremost because we want to honor our Heavenly Father. In an age where it is normative to live with a girlfriend or have sex before marriage, I know it sounds strange. We've already had confusion from people who are shocked to hear that we haven't yet had sex! Don't get me wrong, purity is tough. It is a daily temptation and struggle. But we want to seek after God, and we are thankful for our friends who keep us accountable to us and to God.
