Hello, I'm a PC.
There's been a lot of talk that Windows is a load of poo, and that
Leopard on Macs runs circles around the poo. I would agree, in fact
I was looking to buy a Mac earlier this semester. However, given
the price of computers and the fact that my old Dell 700m still
works well, I decided to hold off on switching for a little while
longer. At least until my laptop gets thrown off a building, run
over by a car, or just plain overheats and dies. In the meantime,
I've been using Windows Vista (it's $34 at the University store).
It's not too bad. Granted, many elements seem to be ripped-off
from the Mac OS, but it does what it needs to do.
My most recently run-in with some nice Windows feature occurred
this morning. Last night I updated some incorrect drivers to my
sound card, which resulted in no sound card at all. In fact, my
computer is usually my alarm clock in the mornings, and this
morning I did not wake up until 2 hours after when I should have
been up. Anyways, after realizing what had happened, I was able to
use the System Restore feature to roll back my driver installation
to yesterday evening prior to the driver upgrade. Windows rebooted
itself, and now iTunes functions like it is supposed to. Quick and
painless. So I'm okay with staying with Windows for a little while
longer.
That probably sounds totally heretical to those in the Apple
camp.
