Today was a day that will go down in the history books. Wei came over to work on the project 240sx. We made a huge step today.

For over a year and a half now we've been trying to get this car back up and running. We sourced an engine in Dallas. Worked on it, and were able to install the engine in the car's engine bay. Up until today, the car has never started up correctly. A few weeks ago we were able to turn the key on the car, but the car turned over a few times, sputtered and then died. Today we tried to correct the sputter. At first we thought it was the timing, and so we had adjusted the chain on the cam gears. However, after checking online, we realized that the timing was correct, and so then proceeded to adjust the crank angle sensor. We then suspected that it was the vacuum seals on the hoses and subsequently, the intake piping. After tightening the couplers on the intake, we started the car up again. This time, with Wei controlling the throttle body, the engine ROARED TO LIFE! It was the smoothest, meanest revving that you've ever heard. Music to our ears. My dad heard the car and came out with the camera.

The problem right now is that the engine does not idle properly right now. If you don't give it gas, the engine dies and shuts down in a few seconds. We have a few guesses as to why that is, but we will work on that another time.

So yeah, mark it down. The engine is an engine.
