Car Project
Everywhere I go, I have projects. Today was a milestone for Project 240sx. The car has been sitting in my garage for over a year and a half and has never had a working engine. Today, the new engine was able to open its eyes for the first time, albeit only a short while. We finally hooked everything up and turned the key. My prediction was that it was going to do absolutely nothing. However, I was surprised.
It didn't roar to life. But it did sputter along and then die. The fact that it did something means that there is hope for us yet. We suspect that it has something to do with the engine timing. We probably installed the timing chain incorrectly, even though there is no way for us to know exactly how off the timing is without disassembling half the engine.
We are in the process of diagnosing this problem... either way, it was quite the morale booster to hear the car turn on.
