Well, today was a milestone in my graduate career. Today was my last day in the biomechanics lab. At 10am, I met with my prof and gave him all the work that I had accumulated over the last 3 years. I had spent last week archiving things to DVD and writing up a small report so that the next person that came along could continue with my research. After handing those things over, I walked across campus to ENS and checked in with my new prof in BME.

Most of the morning was spent trying to figure out where to put me in the lab. I ended up in one of the labs, where I'll be temporarily for two weeks. Not a problem. I'm kinda tucked away in a corner, which allows me a pretty quiet area to just hang out and study up on things. After the morning, I had a few errands to run, both research and recreational related. I had to get keys for the new office, but also found out late that today was the start of the UT vs. Rice ticket draw. Anyways, after running around and grabbing lunch, I wound up holed back up at my new desk where I caught up on some studying for class.

After dinner I also ended up studying as well. I haven't studied this much for a class since my Hopkins days. Back then, I would spend every waking hour studying. If I had a 30 minute break between classes, I'd run over to the library and read some notes for even just 20 minutes. It feels like that now, even though it's nowhere as intense as it used to be. For one, I don't have the endurance anymore to be able to study till 2am, and then wake up at 7am. But I'll do what I can to get spun up as fast as I can both in my new research lab as well as in my classes.
