Weird dream
The entire dream took place in Austin, but my school, church and home were all combined into one giant building. I'm not sure why, but I distinctly remember this giant building comprised of bedrooms, laboratories, courtyard meeting areas and a sanctuary. In the dream, one of the first things that happened was that I was driving on the highway. I distinctly remember it being at night, and the highway was a very wide and straight multi-lane expressway extending far as the eye could see. As I was driving, I looked up ahead and saw an American Airlines plane flying up above. As I continued to drive, the plane gradually began to tip downward until it eventually was falling downwards, perfectly vertical with the horizon. I remember being freaked out at the moment, wondering if it was actually going to crash into the city, but at the last possible second, the plane tilted upwards and flew up past my car. The plane made a few passes back and forth, but not in a normal way. It would fly past doing barrel rolls, flying upsidedown. And it was uber-close to the ground, only a few hundred feet up in the air. I remember being able to see the AA logo and the individual cabin windows very clearly. The whole time it seemed like the plane was headed for a crash, but it didn't and eventually flew away.
I got to the big church/home/work building and walked inside. In the dream, there had been an incident the night before where one of the bedrooms had gotten bombed, but fortunately no one had been hurt. The bombing was fresh in my mind as I walked to the door to my lab. As I unlocked the door and opened it, I heard a continuous beeping sound... I looked through the crack on the door and saw a giant mass of wires attached to a black box mounted to the wall. The beeping was getting faster and faster. I knew what that meant so I ran and hit the deck! The bomb went off, again hurting no one. I got up from the ground to find the hallway filled with smoke and dust, walls were blown open, and entering the lab, we found most everything destroyed (except my laptop which I had placed next to the door was unscathed. weird). The rest of the dream was spent trying to figure out what had happened.
At one point, we found another wallmine and managed to deactivate it without it detonating. Afterwards I remember trying to figure out how it worked with Terence and my dad. In retrospect, that was probably rather nerdy of us. But the dream pretty much ended with no resolution. I woke up at 7am a little shaken, a little confused.
Like I said before, the bombing incidents occurred amongst some other "day-to-day" scenarios which weren't very exciting or that notable:
1. There was a church meeting for something that day.
2. For some reason, Ricky told me he needed me to use my credit card to buy some glasses and then paid me back with a large wad of cash.
3. After the plane incident, I got pulled over by a "cop" car who turned out to be a mexican cafeteria worker. The guy walked up to my car, said, "nice car" and then got back into his car and drove off.
4. I worked on my research presentation.
5. I watched some TV with my sister.
I also noticed that the beeping was the same exact sound as the wallmine beeping sound in the Splinter Cell computer game that I was playing right before bed.
So anyways, I won't even start to guess at what the dream meant, but thought I'd at least write stuff down about it so that I wouldn't forget it. Usually I'll have dreams and almost forget everything by the time I wake up. But I could actually remember large pieces of the dream when I woke up today.
