Good News
When I'm tempted to despair at my
shortcomings, I consider Christ's work on the Cross that paid for
my sin. On my own I could not meet God's righteous demands for
holiness. Yet Jesus has made access to the Father a reality.
Therefore, though it might be "natural" for me to self-condemn
myself when I mess up, I remember that Jesus has already paid for
the penalty of that sin. God is not angry does not hold me in
contempt, or waits for me to do something good to make up for the
bad. Rather He is eager to forgive those who ask for forgiveness.
What a great God we have.
A comforting truth for everyone.
