Conference Business
I gave my research presentation here at
the conference yesterday. It was a pretty tiring ordeal for me. Not
necessarily because I was nervous and stressing out for it, but
because I was up late preparing for it the night before, and up
early the next morning to practice the presentation. By last night
around 10pm I was already super tired and ready for bed.
My mom actually came to watch me present yesterday and she was able
to sit in the back at the top of the bleachers and take some wide
angle pictures of the auditorium. You can't necessarily make me
out, but I'm the guy wearing the red shirt:)
The presentation went pretty average, in my opinion. Due to lack of
time during the session, I only had one question during the Q&A
time. However, I had good conversations afterwards with researchers
who were interested in the things that I and my lab were working
on. I intend on following up on those conversations through emails
after the conference. These students were looking to go down the
same route in terms of the analytical techniques we have been
using, as well as looking at the simulations we have used.
Later that evening, I went with my fam to a small night market in
Taipei. Not the best one, but they had a lot of food to eat. I ate
stuff that I didn't even know what it was. Unfortunately, I forgot
to bring my camera so I have no pictures from the evening. Dang it.
