Well, today was the last day of Tim's visit. He left early this morning at around 10am. We headed to the airport bright and early, but not before stopping at Rudy's one more time. This time, for their breakfast tacos. They were surprisingly good. And cheap! $1.45 gets you a breakfast taco with two fixins in them. Breakfast for both of us was around $6. Makes me want to stop by Rudy's everyday on my way to school:)

After the airport, I headed to school and stayed there the rest of the day doing work. Unfortunately, I was really really tired and so it was really hard for me to stay awake. But my highlight of the day probably comes from talking Fernando. He's this guy from Brazil that's here for only a few months doing some research in Dr. Coyle's lab. He told me that the reason why he's here at UT is because of this one day back in Brazil when he was working at his family's hotel. He was just sitting at the front counter just randomly reading a scientific journal that he thought was interesting. A man walks up to the counter to check into the hotel. The man told him his name and as Fernando was checking him in, he realizes that it's the same name as the author of the paper he was just reading! It was Dr. Coyle who was at the counter, and eventually offered him a summer research position here at UT. Anyways, we got to talking about other stuff which was really great. Fernando is a great guy, always super friendly and really excited about what he's doing. That was easily the highlight of my work day.

Last night we took Tim to The Elephant Room for some jazzy jazz. That was good fun. I really enjoy that place a lot. The music there is excellent and the atmosphere seems like it's straight out of a movie. I almost feel like I need to be go in wearing some Humphrey Bogart trenchcoat and fedora.

Actually, I probably can't pull that look off anyways.
