I installed Windows Vista on my computer
last night. I had a few issues that took me a few hours to fix due
to some bad software that I was using. My anti-virus software
didn't work under Vista and also wouldn't uninstall under Vista.
I spent a long time trying to figure out how to manually uninstall
a program by deleting entries in the registry. Messing with the
registry wasn't the best thing, but it was either that or have no
virus protection on my computer.
Anyways, there really is a big difference in Vista vs. XP. Programs
load up a lot faster than usual, and processor management seems to
be handled a lot better. I'm gonna keep trying it out for a few
days and hopefully it'll keep growing on me. One of the nicest
things about Vista is the look of it. Windows and icons look a lot
smoother and crisper, and the whole thing just has this nice feel
to it.
Of course, it's not completely out of the ordinary for people to
call Vista a copy of Apple's OSX. A lot of the features of OSX are
very similar, and the whole feel of fluidity and stability seems
borrowed directly from the Mac. It's not to say that it makes
Vista a bad piece of software, only that you have to give credit
where credit is due.
