Any day that you have to take more than 2 showers is a packed day.

I'm usually a one-shower-per-day kind of guy, but sometimes stuff happens and you have to jump in the shower a second time. But when that number jumps to THREE, you know that you did a lot.

Yesterday I woke up, showered and headed over to Jonathan and Erin's apartment. A couple people showed up to help them move out of their apartment, and store all their things in a public storage facility. I didn't read the instruction email very closely and showed up at 9:00am, a full hour before the moving activities were scheduled to begin. Once everyone showed up though the actual moving didn't take very much time at all. In two and a half hours, everything was loaded into the storage unit and we went out to lunch. Even though it's just manual labor, I think doing work with friends makes it fun and helps to pass the time away. After lunch I went to the lab but I felt so stinky and gross from moving that I left early and went home for my second shower of the day.

A few hours later, I went out running and came back sweaty and gross again. A third shower ensued. While that should have been the end of the night, I got a call that some people were going downtown for drinks, and so I headed out again. There was enough cigarette smoke around me throughout the night that I should have showered again when I got home, but I was tired enough and decided that I'd just go to bed and shower in the morning.

So to recap: The number of showers you take per day is directly correlated to how packed your schedule is. That is, unless you're in Taiwan in the summer and it's just so hot and humid every day that you have to take multiple showers just to feel clean and normal. No joke.
