VT News
Anyone with internet or tv news access today must have seen the
reports about the VA Tech shootings on TV. The incident is now the
worst school shooting in the U.S., surpassing the shootings in 1966
and 1999 at Texas and Columbine, respectively. My heart goes out to
the families affected by this tragedy, I dunno what I would have
done in an situation like that one. It's times like these in where
there are no answers to the questions of "why" that we can only
trust in the sovereignty of God.
I don't usually post up current events on my blog, but there are a
few reasons why I wanted to blog about it. I won't go into them
all until more news statements are released, but last night I was
on Wikipedia researching past school shootings. Specifically, the
sniper shootings that occurred here at the University of Texas back
in 1966. I spent an hour reading about the police reports, witness
accounts, and even found a recent interview by one of the last
people to see Charles Whitman (the sniper) alive before he began
his rampage. So oddly enough, this morning I wake up and read about
VT on CNN. Like my friend said over IM, "We live in a nutso world."
