I just got back from dinner with Nick and Jonathan. It was Nick's birthday so we all went out to Hut's Hamburgers. Though it was for Nick, I was very thankful to be out with these guys too. Let's just say I haven't had the greatest of days... Actually, that's an understatement. I got up this morning at 6am to be here at the lab around 7:30am. I stayed until it was time to go to Hut's at 7pm. It's 9:30pm now and I'm back in the lab. So yeah, today I will have logged over 12 hours of work in the lab. Yes, it's a Saturday. And yes again, it's the Saturday before Easter.

I'm trying to get a research grant out the door by Monday, and I've been having a really hard time getting everything in order to get the grant in a good enough condition to send away. I'm not going to say why, but I've been pretty frustrated today with this whole grant writing process. Part of me thinks it would just be relieving right now if I just gave up, but the other part of me realizes that I've been working on this thing for 3 months so I've GOTTA finish this and send it out.

But yeah, so we went to Hut's Hamburgers tonight for dinner and it was a nice two hours where I didn't have to think about grant writing, and all the cares of the day kinda just got zapped by a greasy burger and oily fries. It was awesome.

Oh yeah, I dunno if anyone else notices, but it is frickin' cold outside and it's April.

Okay, back to work.
