Immobilized by Oklahoma
I've got the worst crick in my neck ever. I think it started Monday night, but it got more serious on Tuesday night. Basically, I can't really turn my head to the left very well. At least not without a lot of pain. It really sucks when I'm driving and I'm trying to check my blind spot when changing lanes. I pretty much have to move my shoulders and hip in order to turn my head enough to check the blind spot. I blame all of this on Oklahoma.
On the trip, we stayed in this church that was gracious in hosting us for a whole week. We all brought sleeping bags and air mattresses. Actually, I only brought my Therm-a-rest in order to pack super light. In the room that the guys were sleeping in, we had these pew-like benches. They were kinda narrow, but cushioned, so they were pretty good to sleep on. Anyways, one of the guys who was sleeping on one of the pews ended up buying an air mattress after two nights. So on Wednesday I started sleeping on the pew bench. The thing was so narrow that I kinda had to lean towards the backing so I wouldn't roll off in the middle of the night. Well after getting back I think my body had kinda accustomed itself to sleeping on a narrow bed, so at night I've been kinda curling myself into a small area of my bed even though I have a lot of room to stretch out. The result? An oddly contorted neck at night, and a really bad crick in the morning. If it doesn't go away by tomorrow, I've gotta do something about it. In the meantime, I'm going to bed.
