It is the gift of God
As I get older, and spend more time
serving in the local church, I've realized one thing in
particular.
I do nothing.
Haha, let me explain here. As I look back at the praises of things
that have gone well in the church, in my ministry, in my
relationships with brothers and sisters in my life, I really have
nothing to boast about. There isn't anything that I've said or
done that has come from my own individual wisdom or
self-righteousness. Instead:
Everything has come from God.
There was never a time where my musicality or eloquence in worship
leading brought people to worship God. Or where my knowledge of
theology impressed someone to where they had greater passion for
the Gospel. Or where by helping to set-up and run the audio
equipment, more people sought the Lord in prayer. I realize more
that it is God who does everything. It is humbling though to see
how he allows me to be a part of his work in the local church.
Lately, it has made me pray more. And it has made me thank God more
when things go well, even beyond expectation.
