Cell Phones
You ever notice how cell phones go off at
just the right (wrong) time? It's as if the phone is just holding
in the ring until the right moment when it's going to go off and
interrupt everyone. Like the phone call that comes right as in
lecture. Or the one that comes in just as you're doing your
business in a public restroom. Or the call that comes in just as
you finally get a chance to talk to the girl you have a crush on.
Last night during bible study we didn't really have any cell phone
interruptions until during prayer. Everything was quiet when we
started to pray, and right as the first guy says, "Dear God..."
"DOO DEE DOO DOO DEE DOO!" one phone goes off, leaving someone
scrambling to silence the ring. Immediately following that, my
phone goes off, "BRRRRRRRRRING!" and I have to scramble to silence
the ring as well. Then the person who called left a long voicemail
and so 2 minutes into prayer my voicemail notifier goes off.
Fortunately that ring tone is a one beep sound and then that's it.
Anyways, it's a good idea to silence any cell phones before
prayer. Or before talking to the girl that you have a crush on
(hypothetically speaking of course).
