The Ginger Man
Last night around 10pm, I went out downtown to The Ginger Man. It's probably one of my most favorite places to go. The crowd is a bit older, the place is pretty mellow, and they've got over a hundred beers on tap. Great place to just sit around and talk with friends in a relaxed atmostphere. Scott invited me to go because he had a friend who was in town for a business trip. When I showed up, it was just Scott and Marian there. We hung out for a while before his friend, Sandy showed up. It was a good time.
Scott and I tried two new beers there. The Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier Dunkel, and the Live Oak Pale Ale. Both were pretty good, although I preferred the Franziskaner. It sorta reminded me of my Germany trip this past summer. Dark German beer is very tasty and smooth going down. The Live Oak was good, but a bit hoppy, which is to be expected from a pale ale. At the end, Sandy couldn't finish her beer and was asking either Scott or I to finish it for her. We couldn't let good beer go to waste. She had ordered a Rio Grande IPA. Again, a pale ale, but less hoppy, which is good.
