Yet another car day today. We thought we were going to get to drop the SR engine into the car today, but we didn't get around to it. A few extra things needed to be done instead. However, we were able to get all the parts that we needed in the rear of the engine to now install it in the 240sx chassis. These are small things, like clamps and hoses that need to be replaced. Once this engine goes in, some of these hoses will never be seen again. That's why it's a good idea to replace them now even if they look okay. If they ever need to be replaced, the engine will need to come out of the car again, which is why it's always so expensive to replace some things in an old engine.

We also mocked up the turbo elbow and downpipe. Though these were cheap parts from Ebay, they're pretty well made and look good. The only problem we faced was that the downpipe bracket which mounts on the transmission cross member wasn't lined up well which meant that it could not be mounted correctly. However, a quick trip to Home Depot for some spacer washers fixed that in no time. It's starting to look like an engine, folks! All these stainless steel pipes are making the engine look pretty good.

Next time we meet up, this thing is going in.  *crosses fingers*
