Last week in my class, I mentioned that Jones Soda Co. made a Thanksgiving themed soda collection. These were sodas that taste like differnet Thanksgiving foods, such as Turkey and Gravy, Dinner Rolls, or Sweet Potato Pie. Yes, these sodas actually exist.

In fact, one of my students emailed me over the break asking where she could purchase these sodas. I told her, and in fact, today I brought a pack of these sodas to class for everyone to sample. Now, this was only the second time that I had tried them myself. The first time was at the ECHO retreat where everyone who tried them was grossed out. People were gagging, gasping for air, looking for water to wash away the nasty taste...

Today was no different.

It was pretty amusing. One girl took out her bag of animal crackers and shared them around with others to try to get rid of the aftertaste. Someone else grabbed their nalgene bottle of water. One guy started ranting about how gross it was.

But then someone walked away with the Antacid Soda flavor at the end of the class!

After class I went downstairs to the Neptune lab to share the remaining sodas with some friends. Once again, everyone was grossed out. One girl refused to even try the soda. But there was this one Japanese guy who kept trying the sodas over and over. Each time he would smack his lips and say, "Mmm... that's pretty good!"

To each his own, I suppose.
