Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I became a member of EV Free today. Two weeks ago I attended a membership class after church, and then last week I had a membership interview with former elders in the church. The whole process wasn't too bad. Yesterday I recieved a certificate in the mail confirming that I had been approved for membership.

The whole membership process wasn't too bad. But there was one thing that really stuck out at me. One of the pastors had mentioned that it is expected that members serve/volunteer at the church. Except under one condition: that is, if you are hurting and you come to the church for healing, for comfort, for people to just come around you and care for you. In that case, the church would rather just see you being loved over.

That really affected me, because I had never heard that from a church before. To hear a leader in the church acknowledge that there are people whom are really hurting out there really impressed me. I think because that maybe from a third person's point of view, some people's suffering is not very serious. But to that hurting person, their suffering is the biggest thing to them. For a church to realize that is huge. Maybe those of you whom are reading this think that is the most obvious thing, but you might be surprised how often it's not realized.
