Small Group
I had small group tonight, and I have to say it was a little odd. Well, not the actual small group. Let me explain. Usually, for small group I'm pretty prepared for things, I've looked over the study for that week and I have my notes just ready to discuss things and ask questions. But this week I wasn't. Don't get me wrong, I had read the passage, taken notes and everything. But 25 minutes before small group was about start, I realized that I left my notes at school!!!
Dang it.
Well, the first thing I did was pray. Then I re-read the 1 John passage and looked over the study guide as best I could, trying to remember the details of the notes I had taken. In the end, I went into small group with very little in front of me. Maybe it showed, maybe it didn't, but I thought that we had a good conversation regardless. In some ways, it was a better conversation. The guys seemed more interested in discussing certain questions. We talked about the meaning of the word "Anointing" and also the meaning of "Eternal life". Pretty deep conversations I thought. Some of the conversations that came up hadn't been planned conversations at all, and had I gone with my notes we might not have talked about them at all. Kinda goes to show that you can't always plan these things out to a T.
But as usual I enjoyed my time with the guys. I'm really glad that everyone finds the time to come even in their busy schedule. Okay, that is all.
