Stupid SUVs
I've said it once, I've said it a million times. If you drive an SUV, admit it, you are slow. Okay, unless you happen to drive a Porsche Cayenne, which statistically speaking, you do not. I'm tired of SUV drivers thinking that they own the road and racing as if they are in NASCAR. Those drivers just need to admit that they did not buy their car for speed. For luxury maybe, for carrying people maybe, for hauling things maybe, for towing a boat maybe, but not for speed.
Today as I was on my way home from Mopac, this Toyota Highlander (V6, I might add) zooms out of no where and decides to go 80mph on the 55 mph feeder. Not only that, since it was rush hour traffic, he had to stomp on his brakes a few seconds later. Traffic opens up around me and I decide to catch up to him just to see what he's doing. Every chance he gets, he's zipping in and out of traffic. At one point, he decides to change lanes into my lane, even though there was very little room between me and the car in front of me. I saw about 1 foot of room between him and the front car, and maybe 2 feet between me and him. Had I not been watching out for him, I probably wouldn't have anticipated his lane changes. In fact, like many Texas drivers, he doesn't use his turn signals once.
Turns out he lives in my neighborhood. I snapped a picture of his car on my camera phone, but I lost the USB transfer cable so I can't show you what a behemoth of a car this is to be pretending you're racing like you're in Gran Turismo.
Anyways, drive safe out there. And stop racing around, you SUV drivers. You already get 10 miles to the gallon. Don't make it even worse.
