"If the student has insufficient time to master the other important sections of Christian doctrine, let him at least have a firm grasp of [the Gospel] which is the very heart and core of his faith."
-TC Hammond

I've been listening to a sermon by CJ Mahaney from New Attitude 1999. I vaguely remember hearing it as a freshman in college, but I remember that my heart was very stubborn to new teaching back then. As I'm listening to it now, I'm reminded of my pride back in college and reminded of how far I've come since then. I'm also reminded once again of the importance of studying the depth of the cross. In the sermon CJ asked the question of whether or not we have become familiar with the cross, or if we are largely unaffected anymore by worship songs that state out the Gospel. Sometimes this is still me and I know that I still have a long way to go.
