This afternoon, someone came by and rang the doorbell. When I answered it, a guy who was probably younger than me asks, "Hi, is your mom or dad home?" I was caught off guard for a few seconds, because no one's said that to me in about a decade. I said I could answer any questions he had, and asked what he needed, and he responded with, "Oh, I'm just looking for the man or woman of the house. If you could go get your mom or dad."

I insisted again that I could handle whatever it was he was asking, selling, or soliciting. Pretty much the next thing I would have done would be to pull out my drivers license or something. He relented and began his sales pitch. I quickly dismissed him and closed the door.

Do I look like I'm in high school???
