Yesterday marked the first day of the conference. To be honest, it was a bit of a let down. Maybe because the days before it were so new and novel to me that I wanted something just as intellectually stimulating. The talks have not been that great. The conference is actually not very well organized. In fact, the conference schedule is probably the most confusing piece of written word that you have ever read. Deanna actually doesn’t know when her talk is, even after studying the schedule intensively. We’ve narrowed it down to either Wednesday or Thursday. It would probably be a good thing to figure that out as soon as possible.

But yeah, this conference is actually very large, and there are people from all over the world doing all sorts of different research topics here. So it’s understandable that you might not see very much of the research that you are interested in. Oh well.

Today we are looking into skipping most of the conference actually. We’re going to go on a tour to Dachau concentration camp. I’ve heard that it’s more than just a depressing tour, but actually it is a very eye-opening one. It’s not because it’s history and a great tragedy… but because it was about people killing other people and dehumanizing them. I’ll let you know how it goes.
