Wei, Scott and I had originally planned to be in Houston this weekend. The speed shop told me that they would have the SR20det motor in stock this weekend and so I had a pickup truck reserved from Enterprise rent-a-car and we were going to leave after work yesterday. However, a few phone calls on Friday revealed that not only had the engine not come in at the shop, but Enterprise had erroneously allowed me to make a reservation without first making sure that there would be a vehicle available.

Frustration ensued.

In the end, we decided to hold off on the Houston trip until later. While it was possible that the speed shop could have gotten the engine by Saturday, it was better that we wait until a time when everything was solidified and things weren't so rushed.

So last night I found myself with very little to do. But I, almost randomly, got to talk with Tiffany over Google Talk's phone call function, which was surprisingly clear considering that she is halfway across the globe right now. Pretty cool. If you haven't tried it out yet. You should. Download the stand-alone Google Talk application and see for yourself. Of course, in this day of free long-distance calls on cell phones, it kinda defeats the purpose of Google Talk talking unless you're in different countries.

This morning, I woke up pretty late and bummed around for the entire morning. Then in the afternoon I went out to Town Lake to do some kayaking again. This time I was determined to go longer and farther than I have before.

The map shows how far I went this time. According to the mapping software, I travelled a little over 7 miles by kayak today. I'm not saying that it's impressive by any rowing standard, but it being my third time on a kayak, it's my farthest trip yet:)

Came home, and tonight I washed and vacuumed the RSX. Very exciting since it desperately needed a wash, inside and out. Of course, since I park it outside, all it will take is the slightest drizzle for it to get dirty again.
