I am not an extrovert
Friday afternoon, Ricky and I headed over to the tuxedo rental place to pick up the tuxes and then zoomed over to the church for the wedding rehearsal. From the start everything was very light-hearted and fun. In fact, I would say that that described the whole wedding very well. At the rehearsal dinner we were surrounded by sooo many people, but it was good just meeting more of Ricky and Sharon's friends whom had been a good influence on them over the years. At the end of the evening, they passed out gifts to all those who were involved in the wedding somehow. The groomsmen got customized cufflinks, which I thought were super cool. Mine say "BES ONE":)

The actual wedding day was also very fun. Before the wedding, we spent some time outside posing for the paparazzi. I didn't get to take too many pictures, since we were all involved with the wedding. Hopefully other people took some good ones. This is one of the few pics I was able to take:

Right before the ceremony was about to start, the groomsmen passed the time in the Carey building by playing fooseball. I got owned pretty bad by Scott one-on-one. The ceremony was just marked by testimony after testimony of God's grace. Being able to lead worship once again was also rather sweet. During worship, I looked out and there were just so many people worshipping the Lord. It was truly a sight to see.
The reception was also a lot of fun hanging out with people. They had Jonathan Jow give swing dance lessons prior to the beginning of the reception since it was almost expected for everyone to dance. I was pretty rusty, but it was fun. Interestingly, I totally got hustled on the dance floor during the lesson. As we were rotating partners, one of the ladies I was dancing with asked me if I knew how to swing. I said, "not really. How bout you?" She said, "No... not at all". Later in the evening I saw her burning up the dance floor with other people. Man... if this was Las Vegas, I would have been out some money or something.
Finally, my last responsibility as Best Man was the speech. Ten minutes before the toasts were to be made, I stepped out to look over my notes, get my game face on, and hope for the best. Before I launched into the actual toast, I made an acknowledgement to all the bridesmaids and to Sharon as well, to which all these guys poked fun of afterwards saying that pretty much all the bridesmaids were married or dating. I'm not totally sure, but I believe that it is customary or tradition for the best man to also honor the bridal party during the speech. Those who were at Derrick and Angela's wedding last weekend saw the same thing from Jeff in his speech. Oh well, I thought it was appropriate since the ladies put in so much more work than the guys did. And either way,
Overall, I had a great time. When I got home, I was so dead tired and my legs were super sore. It was then that I realized that I had been on my feet pretty much the entire day. Yikes.
Edit: Oh yeah, one more thing. Charis, who's 8 years old, wouldn't dance with me even though I kept bugging her about it the whole night. I'm such a punk.
