Sil-Eighty
Anyways, the popular option with these cars lately has been to transplant better engines into the car. Like I said before, the the 240sx shares the same chassis as the Silvia and so many people opt to swap in the CA18DET or the even more popular SR20DET. The engine is not very expensive and fits exactly in the engine bay. This is what we plan to do.
The title says Sil-Eighty and that probably requires some explanation. In Japan, another thing that people like to do is to combine the front (+engine) of a Silvia (coupe) onto the rear-end of a 180sx (hatchback), hence the combination of the two car names: Sil-Eighty. That's another thing that we're considering doing although that swap is money. I looked at internet prices, looks like it will cost $1000 just for the parts for the conversion. That doesn't include paint, although Wei is convinced that we can paint the car for $50.
