Okay, don't laugh here. But today I went to my very first... yes, my VERY FIRST... UT spectator sport. Yes, I grew up in Texas. Yes, I go to UT now. Yes, I've been a student at UT for two whole years. It is sad. Probably what makes it even more sad is that if no one had invited me out to this game, I probably wouldn't have had any desire to go.

I went to watch UT Softball today play against Missouri. To be honest, I had no idea what to expect with women's softball. I thought it was just gonna be a dumbed-down version of baseball. But no, I was so impressed by the pitching. Softball is underhanded, but man, those girls can throw! Cat Osterman was owning up on everyone who came up to bat. I found myself perplexed at how an underhanded throw could be so fast! I'll have to do some extracurricular research on the biomechanics and force production of an underhanded throw. UT ended up scoring the only point of the game at the bottom of the 7th (also learned that softball only has 7 innings) and as usual, it's always nice to be on the winning team.
