Haha, today I got to be the guy who gives the announcements at ECHO. Though it was short and quick, I was very encouraged that Pastor Joel would ask me to do that, especially since I am really new to the ministry. But once again, church was excellent. Cheryl spoke from Deuteronomy about the greatest commandment of loving the Lord your God. Once again, she brought it. I appreciate the fact that, as a woman in ministry, when she preaches she states that she does so under the authority of the senior pastor and the elders in the church.

Today we also celebrated Jonathan getting engaged to his girlfriend, Erin. I've only known Jonathan for a few months now but I've come to really respect him as a man of God. He seems to always be thinking about the things of God, the church, and his ministry. Today after church we talked about Mark Dever and his 9marks ministry, as well as the "Together for the Gospel" ministry put together by Ligon Duncan, Albert Mohler, and two of my modern day heroes: CJ Mahaney, and Mark Dever. When Jonathan talks about the Gospel, the guy talks with passion and experience. It's always great to talk with him.
