Tonight I went to my first ECHO small group. We met at the house of the small group leader, Andrew. I had a chance to meet up with Andrew a few days ago for lunch and really enjoyed my conversation with him. Although he's a few years younger than me, I kinda feel that he's really older than me because of his spiritual maturity. Even tonight, I showed up a few minutes early, and we got a chance to talk about church, life and whatever else was going on. I really felt that I could learn a lot from talking to him, and hopefully I'll get more chances to do that as the semester progresses.

Anyways, the group is just comprised of me, Andrew and this other guy Larry. There is one more guy in the group that will join us sporadically. Interestingly enough, the guy actually turned out to be Sharon's brother, Jason! Andrew told me that Jason was starting up a bible study in the Pharmacy school where he's now a student. I figured that it would be a long shot to ask if it was Sharon's brother but it turned out to be him! About that, tonight Andrew introduced me to Larry as "the best man in Jason's sister's wedding". For a second Larry pauses and says, "oh... he's in the wedding. I thought you were saying that he was MARRYING Jason's sister. Yeah I gotcha. I didn't think he was THAT old."

In my mind I go, "oh dang. I'm old." So you can imagine his surprise when I told him that I was actually the same age as Sharon.

The three of us just sat and talked and fellowshipped for about an hour and a half sharing about our winter breaks and talking about how our semesters were shaping up. Then we ended with a time of prayer for one another. I left very encouraged by our meeting tonight. I'm looking forward to the rest of the semester.

As we were leaving, Larry saw my car and asked me about my mods. Turns out Larry is a car nut as well, just starting out with mods on his Civic. Now before you start wondering.... no, this is not Vtec-Boy-Larry. Please don't mistaken him for Vtec-Boy.
