Tim left this afternoon after a pretty fun 3 days here in Austin. We had a good time together just catching up on things that had been going on in the last month or so since Jimmy and Hyejung's wedding (happy one month anniversary today!). A lot of the time was spent going to various places around Austin to eat food as well as take pictures. We ended up eating at the following restaurants:
  • Chuy's Tex-Mex
  • Rudy's BBQ
  • Whole Foods Market headquarters
  • Freebirds
  • Oasis
  • and Rudy's again today
I did get a chance to show him Lime Creek Road, where the boys and I have been a few times to do some "spirited" driving. That road is way too much fun, although I'm always concerned at the wear-and-tear that it does to my tires and brakes. Anyways, I digress.

One of my favorite Team Kang moments of the weekend was when we were eating at Oasis. It went down like this: We're sitting down in the restaurant and just talking when all of a sudden Tim's cell phone goes off. He looks at it and goes, "What the? Who is this?" He picks up and after a few seconds of introduction, realizes that it's Jimmy's sister, Jackie. I, knowing what will transpire in only a matter of minutes, start to try very hard not to crack up and give away the surprise. They talk for a few minutes and then Jackie asks to speak to me... Tim hands me the phone but Jackie has already hung up before the phone gets to me.

I tell Tim that the phone is disconnected and he tries to re-connect the phone. Then a moment later, my phone rings and it was at that point that Tim began laughing uncontrollably since he knew what was going on. Jackie had hung up and called my phone to talk to me.

For those who don't know, Tim once did that to three of us who were together hanging out in an apartment. Rather than say, "can I talk to so-and-so now?" and have the phone passed to someone, he just called each of our cell phones individually. In fact, the three of us were all sitting together on a couch next to each other at the time.

unrelated to this post, but i saw your book review on humility. interesting, because my mom just gave me a book to read also called humility by andrew murray. it's also a really small book and i think she's reading it in chinese.

hmm, humility. pride is a sneaky thing that threatens my every word and action.
