Sundays with Teem
Anyways, we've just been doing a lot of eating lately. We've ended up at Rudy's, Chuy's and Whole Foods Market for our meals. All of them have been excellent and delicious.
Tonight after eating at Whole Foods, we went up on the roof of Whole Foods and took a few pictures of the busy intersections surrounding the parking lot, as well as just interesting composition shots around the area. For the most part, we didn't have any problems with people saying we couldn't take pictures... that is until Tim starts setting up his sniper rifle. In a brightly lit area, Tim set up the tripod upside-down in order to get close to the ground, then sets up his camera on it at such an angle that the perfect shot was a matter of millimeters. Of course, we're standing in the brightly lit area for what had to be at least 5-10 minutes, the whole time adjusting this camera for one shot. Of course, that drew the attention of the Whole Foods manager and he came to tell us that we couldn't be taking pictures on private property... essentially asking us to leave.
Interestingly enough, I realized that Whole Foods is a publicly traded company, and not only that wondering if that could have kept us from leaving. Also, if it was private property, city sidewalks are considered public property and I wondered if we could have taken pictures from there without any trouble?
But regardless, we left and headed over to the UT campus and just took pictures around there. The crowds were gathered once again at Littlefield Fountain for pictures of the tower, lit up orange with the #1 on it. We tried something new and went to the top of Belmont and took pictures there. Being high up meant that there was very little city noise and there was also a nice breeze as we stood there taking pictures for what was almost an hour or so.
So right now Tim is processing those pictures... I'm getting ready for bed, typing on the blog and making progress on yet another book this year. This time it's "Experiencing God's Forgiveness" by John Ensor, a present that I got from G and Ange for my birthday. I like it.
Anyways, if you're wondering why I haven't replied to your email or your phone calls, now you know. With the Dalai Laba in town, there's just no time for things like email, otherwise you might miss a Tim Kang moment...
