The Day After the Wedding

What an unbelievable day yesterday. I am still reeling over just the events of Jimmy and Hyejung's wedding yesterday. Not only was it such a great time with close friends from school, but the entire wedding, from ceremony to reception was so Christ-centered that you just had to give God the glory after all was said and done.
The songs of praise during the worship time directed our attention to the cross. Pastor Harold preached on the wedding at Cana, directing our attention to Christ's presence and role in a marriage. I was so blessed by that sermon as it was a great reminder of God's grace not just in marriage, but in all aspects of life.
Throughout the entire wedding, we were treated to world-class musicians who were so talented at their musical presentations. I think I was especially moved by Jimmy's sister, Jackie, who performed a cello piece during the honoring of the parents. Not that that time during a wedding isn't very emotional to begin with, but coupled with a beautiful cello piece just made it such a great moment frozen in time. I was also in awe of Jane Park's voice, which has only gotten better and better over the years that I have known her. She sang during the worship time, but also sang a jazz love song during the couple's first dance at the reception.
The reception was a lot of fun, the bridal party was introduced in with KanYe West playing in the background. The maid of honor, my partner-in-crime Jean, and I came in strutting and dancing to the beat, which was fun until Jean slapped herself in the face with the purse she was carrying. Then Jimmy and Hyejung walked in accompanied by the Chicago Bulls theme song. Hilarious. I can't wait to see the video to that.
During the reception the bridal party was running in and out busy taking care of things. So at times, there would only be two or three people from the bridal party hanging out at the head table. But everyone just made their rounds visiting with all who were in attendance. It was great seeing a bunch of Hopkins people once again, mostly reminiscing about old stories and jokes but it was good to catch up with people that I hadn't seen in such a long time. I especially enjoyed seeing G and Ange once again. Their wedding is this upcoming May so I will be attending countless weddings in the next year.
After the wedding, a few of us gathered at Jimmy and Hyejung's apartment and just hung out there for the rest of the evening. We just spent the time enjoying one another's company and eating food. Nothing out of the ordinary as we even watched the 1999 Adoremus concert video and told stories about G in his nice guy years. But this time we were also just celebrating the fact that Jimmy was now married.
I can't say enough how much of an honor and privilege it was for me to be a part of their BIG day. God is unbelievably good to me, blessing me with such good friends. Both home in Texas and on the East coast.
Oh and one more thing, I don't care that I'm not Korean, I'm gonna bow to Korean parents from now on. All I have to do now is just try to understand what the heck they're saying though.
